Dear Parents and Students,

With all of the recent online learning, Miss Ellie G. decided to go back to school.  She has recently earned her Pedigree (or Pet Degree) in Academic Coaching, and has begun interning as my Assistant Academic Coach.  With her dogged determination, and under my watchful tutelage, she is sure to excel, and wants you to know, that she, Ellie G., is Ready to Serve!

Toss Her a Question – She Will Return an Answer

For her final project, she has proposed doing a, “Dear Ellie” column.  Just like a, “Dear Abby” column, she is encouraging parents and students to write in with any questions they may have, or topics they’d like to see addressed, pertaining to achieving academic success and/or learning at home.  Things you are doing at home that are working well and that you’d like to share are also welcome.  Ellie is interested in anything and everything you have to say.  One look at her fetchingly, soulful eyes, and you just know she wants to be there for you, to help in any way she can!  So toss her a question, and she will return an answer!

In the meantime, Ellie would like to offer the following tips for the week:

  1. Dig into your work
  2. Paws between assignments
  3. Have a treat to maintain energy
  4. Go for a walk, or lots of walks
  5. Play ball
  6. Take a nap
  7. Stop and smell the roses  (Ellie said, “Stop and smell,” I added the roses!)
  8. Enjoy your people
  9. Ask for help so you don’t bark up the wrong tree
  10. Put your nose to the grindstone

Please send your Dear Ellie to the email address listed below.  We look forward to hearing from you!

Stay well and healthy,

Alice Giarrusso
